"Take your best shot. I will offer no resistance. Then it will be my turn."
BLACK PANTHER
Name: T'Challa
Alias(es): Black Panther, Panther, Luke Charles
NPC
Age: 28
Height: 6' 0"
Physical Description:
T'Challa is a twenty-eight year old black man. He has a muscular but lean build. The Panther walks confidently with a cat-like grace.
He wears a full body costume called heavenly armor. It's lightweight, and operates by thought. The uniform is made with vibranium microweave mesh. When hit with a bullet, it'd just fall to the ground because of the suit. The only way to get through the suit is if you cut/hit along a certain spot.
The mask allows him to see perfectly in the dark. In addition, the boots made from vibranium deposits allow him to fall from several stories without getting hurt and landing on his feet like a cat.
Face Claim: Chadwick Boseman
Personality:
A calm young man, T'Challa tries to display as little emotion as possible. He'd like it if his emotions could become unreadable. This makes him come off as arrogant at times, but it's more of a confidence in his abilities. Panther tries to live up to his father's memory, a perfect ruler in his eyes. Striving for perfection isn't always a good thing, especially when pushing yourself so hard.
Panther always feels the need to be in control.
Affiliation: None as of right now, later an ally of the Fantastic Four and a member of the Avengers
Identity: Public, though he's under the alias of Luke Charles in the U.S.
Powers or Special Abilities:
After T'Challa ate the ceremonial heart-shaped herb he became the Black Panther, and was given superhumanly acute senses.
He can see perfectly in the dark, up to a hundred feet. Similarly his hearing has been enhanced in the same way. Panther can pick up on sounds that normal humans can't hear. T'Challa is able to smell fear. He can taste the different ingredients in food.
T'Challa is a peak-human athlete in all ways. He can lift four times his weight (roughly 800 pounds). Being able to run at speeds up to 35 MPH, he is faster than any Olympic athlete. His stamina is unparalleled, for the normal human anyway. He can go berserk (essentially) for an hour without becoming fatigued, it is only then when he'll start to slow down.
Very agile, he is at the pinnacle of human capability. He is very balanced and his bodily-coordination is better than any Olympic gymnast. The same goes with his resistances to disease and whatnot. While still susceptible to them, he recovers far faster than the normal human.
Skills:
T'Challa is brilliant, quite simply. He is one if the smartest on Earth, and he has a photographic memory. Similarly, he is a masterful inventor. His inventions aren't always as great as Tony Stark's, but he can get pretty close to his rival. His engineering skill and intellect has proven that he's a worthy adversary, and that's can create weaponry/whatnot that rivals Stark's, among others.
A master martial-artist, Panther has trained to be a warrior since birth. He's an expert in almost all forms of armed and unarmed combat. In fact, he's said to be one of the greatest on Earth (...again). Panther can put combatants like Captain America in a deadlock, and at times he can get the upper-hand.
Stealth is another skill of his. He can put together an excellent disguise. At the same time he is an expert tracker, he is capable of memorizing scents. Panther is also a hunter, and he can do the same to his prey.
The Black Panther is a superb marksman and has mastered (master of everything, apparently!) all forms of weaponry known to man.
T'Challa was taught much by his father, and he's become a master tactician and strategist. As a leader. His father always told him to think two steps before his enemy and three before his friends.
Advantages:
Many things separate T'Challa from the normal man. He is quite influential, and has Diplomatic Immunity in the US. T'Challa has a seat at the UN. The Wakandan King also has connections, and thus access to rare (sometimes magical) artifacts, weapons, and military hardware. He also has the support of most Wakandans, for example the large amount of scientists in the country. He is a scientist as well, having his Ph.D in Physics from Oxford, he is classified as one of the eight most intelligent men on Earth.
He is a polyglot, able to speak his native language, English, and various others fluently.
Disadvantages:
Panther is human, despite all of his enhancements. He's susceptible all of the same things, to a degree.
His need to know everything trips him up occasionally. T'Challa is a very complex individual, and often spends a lot of time in thought. He thinks, "Am I turning into the monster I'm trying to protect Wakanda from?"
Being the king of Wakanda always puts him in the public eye as well, everyone seems to watch his every move.
Occupation: King of Wakanda, Chieftain of Panther Clan, Physicist
Citizenship: Wakandan with Diplomatic Immunity in the U.S.
Place of Birth: Wakanda, Africa
Relatives:
• Hunter (Adopted brother)
• N'Yami (Mother; deceased)
• Ramonda (Stepmother)
• T'Chaka (Father; deceased)
History:
Things weren't so smooth when T'Challa was born. His mother died during labor, and his older (adopted) brother Hunter blamed him for her death. His father eventually remarried, a woman named Ramonda. Around this time T'Challa's father T'Chaka began to teach him. He was taught many things, though the focus was obviously on war and how to lead his people successfully, as it'd eventually be his time to do so. T'Challa saw his father as the perfect king, and it would later make him strive to do nothing but perfection, which would put him under stress.
T'Chaka was killed when T'Challa was fourteen, by a man named Klaw over the vibranium in Wakanda. He is one of the only people that T'Challa hates, and given the chance he would readily attack him. T'Challa once was extremely close to killing him, but he got away. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
At that age T'Challa had already learned most of what his father could teach him, and he would progressively get stronger with age. Being a teenager, the Wakandan still had to go to school. Under the alias of Luke Charles he attended various schools in the U.S. and U.K., later finding out that he was an incredibly intelligent individual. T'Challa went to Oxford, and received his Ph.D in Physics at the age of 26. He is one of the leading physicists in the world.
After schooling, he went back to Wakanda, where his step-mother Ramonda ruled, she was passionate, and a great leader. Though, naturally she'd step down when he came back. She is his confidante, T'Challa can ask her for help with anything or reveal anything to her, and she'd help in whichever way possible.
T'Challa, around the same time, had become the Chieftain of the Panther Clan (much to his older sibling's dismay). The Panther God chose him to receive the gift, and after ceremonial and ritual rites he became the next Black Panther.
His older brother was furious, and in retaliation he formed a secret police, the Hatut Zeraze, with Hunter being the leader, White Wolf. T'Challa didn't want this, and exiled them from Wakanda.
He's been the reigning king of Wakanda for two years now, and lives a double life as Luke Charles in the U.S.
T'Challa isn't one for inviting foreigners to his country, but soon he plans to invite a few heroes (none of which know he's Panther), because he'd like to test security systems and brush up on his fighting skills. He's using them, but later will become a powerful ally when needed!
