Location: San Francisco, California Date: 9/25/2012 Time of Day: AfternoonHis armored forearms were all that kept an axe out of Tony Stark's face, but that never stopped the billionaire loudmouth from backtalking.
"Hey, Leonidas, it's 2012, let's put some pants on during work hours, what do you say?"
"You dare mock a son of Zeus!"
Iron Man almost sighed, "Another one? Jarvis, scan 'em?" It took a moment, but the AI did as asked, "He is indeed not human sir. Like Thor, Loki and the creatures that attacked Manhattan, he seems to be of another world."
"Who do you speak to, armored rat? Ares does not appreciate being ignored!" The Greek God pushed Tony down to one knee, the axe growing ever closer to his helmet. Tony grit his teeth, turning up the power output of his suit, "Jarvis, activate the Asgard protocol!" If this guy wanted to throw hands, let him do it with another god. The signal was sent out from Tony's suit to the ID Card that he'd given to Thor.
In the place where Thor's picture usually appeared on his card, Tony appeared, "Hey Thor! Blondie, are you getting this? I've got some guy claiming to be an Olympian tearing up my town, I could use a hand."

Thor was already inbound, when his Avengers ID began to play " Thunderstruck". Drawing the device from his belt, he looked at the cocky, sweating face of Tony Stark. "Hey Thor! Blondie, are you getting this?""Your servant is most efficient, Tony. He notified me when you found out." Even as he spoke, Thor eyed the images with a practiced eye. Iron Man battled a man in black, a skull on his leather breastplate and a greek helmet on his head. "I've got some guy claiming to be an Olympian tearing up my town, I could use a hand.""He may be of Olympus," Thor said, "although it is difficult to tell from this image. But stand firm, Iron Man, and Thor shall attend thee." And, in truth, he could see the battle raging in the street now. A blast of energy flashed between Iron Man's gauntlets and the face of his foe, and the warrior in black staggered backward. Thor struck. Allowing himself to go into freefall, he spun Mjolnir and let fly. Trailing lightning, it raced ahead of the Thunderer and struck the chest of the supposed god with a blinding flash and a clap of thunder. As Ares hurtled backwards under the force of the impact, Thor caught his hammer and whipped it backwards, turning his fall into a pavement-shattering landing at Iron Man's side. The man in black was climbing out of a destroyed compact car and back to his feet, axe clenched in one scarred fist. Thor could hear the bass rumble of his laughter. "Who art thou?" the Asgardian demanded. "Answer, and answer truely, for tis Thor of the Thunders that asks!"

Now that Thor had arrived, Tony sighed. His muscles were like mush in his skin. Ares had super strength, much like Thor did as well, and despite the armor augmenting his strength beyond peak human levels, Tony just could not compete with the otherworldly beings and their absolutely immense levels of strength. The hood of his helmet opened up and Tony watched the exchange between the Olympian and the Asgardian warriors. Ares growled as he was questioned by the Thunderer.
"Because tradition dictates that one should give their name first before asking another's, so I will answer." He sized up the hammer wielder, resting his battle axe on his shoulder, "My name is Ares, son of Thor, you Asgardian whelp."
He held his hand out before saying, "This will be the new Olympus, Cali-for-nia." Ares smirked and then continued, "A place, where Asgardians will not be welcomed." The Olympian lowered his axe to a level where he'd be able to fight, "So, do yourself a favor, and leave Thunderer."
Tony cut in, "What a load of crap." His systems were rebooting. If Thor could buy him just ten minutes, everything would be fully recharged.

The man in the black armor sneered. "Because tradition dictates that one should give their name first before asking another's, so I will answer." He sized up the hammer wielder, resting his battle axe on his shoulder, "My name is Ares, son of Thor, you Asgardian whelp."
"Ares," Thor breathed, contemptuously. "Why dost thou trouble these people, Ares Thouros?"
He held his hand out before saying, "This will be the new Olympus, Cali-for-nia."
"And hast thou lost the old Olympus, Ares?" A pause. "Or hast thou been banished?"
Ares smirked and then continued, "A place, where Asgardians will not be welcomed." The Olympian lowered his axe to a level where he'd be able to fight, "So, do yourself a favor, and leave Thunderer."
Tony cut in, "What a load of crap."
"Ares," Thor said, his voice deep and formal. "Thou hast already offered insult to Anthony Járnmaður, worthy to stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods, and troubled these his lands. Wilt thou bring disgrace to thy lord and father, when I am forced to discipline thee like a wayward child?" He lifted Mjolnir. "For I say to thee, Ares Stratios, that these people enjoy the protection of the strong right arm of Thor!"

"For I say to thee, Ares Stratios, that these people enjoy the protection of the strong right arm of Thor!"
"Then come Odinson, let the son of Zeus lay thee to an eternal rest, in Hades."
Gripping his axe, Ares launched himself at the Asgardian with his axe over his head. Tony instinctively held his hand out to fire his repulsor, but nothing came of it as he remembered his systems were rebooting. Stark nearly growled, "Any day now Jarvis."
"I'm sorry sir, I'll try asking the system reboot to kindly work faster."
Ares waited for nothing, he didn't command an element like Thor did, so speed and strength would be his main weapon against the god of Thunder, "Why so slow to attack Asgardian? Did your father teach you only to defend! Fight me Thunderer!"

"Then come Odinson, let the son of Zeus lay thee to an eternal rest, in Hades." Gripping his axe, Ares launched himself at the Asgardian with his axe over his head.
With a quick glance at Tony, lying helpless with in his armor, Thor acted. Spinning Mjolnir around his head, he raised a tornado which caught the Olympian. Ares spun and twisted in the winds before, with a gesture, Thor ended it and launched the God of War the length of the street.
Ares waited for nothing, he didn't command an element like Thor did, so speed and strength would be his main weapon against the god of Thunder, "Why so slow to attack Asgardian? Did your father teach you only to defend! Fight me Thunderer!"
"Nay, Ares," Thor laughed. "I was but taking thy measure."
Thor raced towards the arrogant Asgardian. One, two, three steps he ran, spinning Mjolnir faster and faster as he did, until he launched himself into the air. Fast as lightning he flashed down the street, the wind of his passage shaking windows.
Even as Ares realized that Thor was upon him, Thor swung Mjolnir in a two-handed strike that shattered the helmet of the God of War and sent him tumbling, head first, through a building.
"And thou art found wanting."
