Once they were submerged, Carol had been mostly focused more on kicking her legs to get them up to the surface faster than their natural buoyancy alone would, and so she hadn't happened to notice Johnny's underwater smirk; however, she did feel him wrap an arm around her waist and draw himself closer... and closer... and then she felt his lips on hers - and Carol could tell right away that it wasn't in hopes of sharing whatever oxygen she'd gulped into her lungs before they hit the water.
"Mmm..." she felt herself utter, mostly because she had been quite taken by surprise - and at the same time, she had stopped kicking them upwards; but they were only about 1 yard shy of the surface.
But, she was only surprised for a moment, and then Carol felt her eyes close, and she was kissing Johnny right back as their bodies slowly worked their way naturally back to the water's surface, and she felt herself making a much more pleased sound than her earlier utterance.
At least Johnny seemed to be quite unharmed, based on his reaction to being forcibly dunked into the sea. Carol would have laughed if they weren't both underwater, just now - and if they weren't lip-locked...
"So... uhh... What time were your reservations for?" Carol asked raising an eyebrow and offering Johnny a little smirk, completely disregarding the fact that neither one of them had technically 'won'. Truth be told, this one was a tie - the way she saw it, they'd both won.
"Do you think we can get back there in time, or... would you prefer to check out some Grecian cuisine, instead?" Carol asked after they'd finally pulled apart, treading water perhaps a mile or so out from the Grecian coastline. "After a shower and a change of clothes, that is..." she tacked on, not at all wanting to stink of the sea, nor to go around in public with salt water dried on her skin. Gross.

Well, that was fun.
Carol seemed to be enjoying the kiss as much as Johnny was. If all he had to do was tease her a little bit while they were being competitive for a kiss, he was going to enjoy, whatever this was. The Human Torch felt the air touch off his head when they returned above the sea, and that's slowly when they pulled apart.
"So... uhh... What time were your reservations for?"
"I dunno," Johnny didn't really care much at the moment, this was way more fun than thinking about something like that. Truth be told, they didn't need to show up, people flaked on their reservations all the time, Johnny had made them ahead of time, before he'd realized that Miss Marvel could fly as fast as he could, "Can't remember."
"Do you think we can get back there in time, or... would you prefer to check out some Grecian cuisine, instead? After a shower and a change of clothes, that is..."
Another chuckle escaped from the Torch, "Well, we're already out here, I don't see why we shouldn't go Greek." He thought about the rest and said, "Lucky for me, the suit is water proof, my credit card is nice and safe. I can uh, get a room you and I can use to clean up, find some new clothes and stuff." He hoped that didn't sound too forward, Ms. Marvel didn't seem like the type that would instantly take things the wrong way anyway, he was sure there was nothing to fear.

If Johnny's offer had come from anyone else... under any other circumstances... Carol might have slapped him for being so forward; however, she was finding that she was enjoying his presence much more than she thought she might, and he was quite terribly good-looking, and she knew that his offer of a hotel room wasn't put on the table so that he could try to get into her pants (so to speak, since... she wasn't actually wearing pants) - he'd offered it so that they could wash off the salt water and make themselves presentable for being out in public. It wasn't like they could just knock on some random Greek person's door and ask if they could borrow their facilities, after all. The hotel room was, essentially, a necessity.
He'd also offered to get new clothes for the both of them, since it wouldn't exactly do to wear their salty and damp superhero costumes to a restaurant. Then again... they were in Europe, and oftentimes the locals went by the code of 'anything goes' - it might not be too shocking for the locals, but... it would be far more comfortable to find some fresh, dry civilian duds to bum around Greece in, for sure.
Carol briefly wondered if they might not just make the most of it and stick around here for a while after dinner - maybe even overnight. They were going to have a hotel room, after all... and they were in one of the most popular tourism spots in the Mediterranean - it would be pretty wasteful if they just took off back for home after dinner...
But... would it be a good idea? Probably not, but then again... it depended on what one's definition of a 'good idea' was.
"That sounds perfect," Carol replied, realizing that she still had both of her arms wrapped around Johnny, even though the need for having done so in the first place had since passed - she wasn't worried that she might accidentally drown him, and yet... here she was... still holding on to the guy.
Maybe she'd bring up extending their stay here over dinner... You know, so as to not be wasteful, and whatnot.
"So... Care for a lift to shore? Or... Did you want to swim all that way, instead?" Carol asked with a playful smirk. She wasn't going to make the guy swim all that way - she was fairly certain it might be a terrible idea to get him all tuckered out before they even reached land, not to mention it'd be a bit mean.

Johnny chuckled when she asked if he'd like a lift, "Just, pull me out of the water? Can't light up if I'm touching more than five gallons of a liquid."
He wouldn't mind staying the night with Ms. Marvel. After all, Johnny was the one who'd asked her out in the first place, even if he'd started it as more of a challenge. Even still, to say he moved fast would be an understatement. Johnathan Storm had been addicted to speed his entire life, fast life, fast cars, fast women. But, the well built blonde superhero from the Avengers? Even Johnny Storm would be willing to slow down and smell the roses if it meant she was there too.
When she pulled him out of the water and let him go, Johnny powered up, "Flame on!"
Flying just under her, he rolled onto his back and smiled up to Carol, "So," he started in a teasing voice, "Should I get two queens, or a king?" Obviously he hadn't known she was contemplating staying yet, he was just kidding around at the moment.

"Oh?" Carol asked with a bit of a smirk as she looked down at Johnny from above. "You planning on getting lucky tonight?" she teased.
She had thought just a moment ago that it might be wise to stay overnight - bedroom action aside. It wasn't often Carol had the opportunity to visit another country, and especially not on peaceful terms. No, usually when she traveled to another country, it was because she was there to stop the bad guys. So, a mini vacation sounded mighty tempting.
They really might as well enjoy Greece, separate beds, or single. Not to mention that Johnny was going to get them a room, anyway, so they could each freshen up before going out to dinner. They may as well get his money's worth - and if they only used the room for pre-dinner preparations, Carol sort of worried about the stigma attached to hourly hotel rooms somehow sticking to herself... whether or not anything steamy happened.
"Hmm... Lemme think on that, Storm," Carol said thoughtfully, having mulled things over a little. "Ask me again before we check in, okay?"
"It's just that I'm not really that sort of girl, you know?" she tried to explain. "Not that I'm entirely opposed to the idea of sharing a bed with you..."
Oh, God... She couldn't believe she just said that out loud! Carol clamped her mouth shut and tried to look ahead at the shoreline that was growing ever closer and tried not to die of embarrassment.

"Oh? You planning on getting lucky tonight?"
Johnny chuckled before answering her in a joking voice, "Who me? I'm already lucky, I'm in Greece with Ms. Marvel."
"Hmm... Lemme think on that, Storm," Carol said thoughtfully, having mulled things over a little. "Ask me again before we check in, okay?"
He waved it off, "Hey, don't worry about it Carol, that's fine with me." He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable, "It's just that I'm not really that sort of girl, you know? Ask me again before we check in, okay?" He chuckled again before saying, "It's fine Carol, really. Just, think about it." He didn't mind if she didn't want to, really he didn't. This was all fun and games to Johnny. If they were really going to date after this first one, Johnny would worry about it after the first date. First things that was first was enjoying tonight.
She was already blushing and looking away, causing the Human Torch to grin, "You know Major Danvers, you're pretty cute when you're blushing."

She was already blushing and looking away, causing the Human Torch to grin, "You know Major Danvers, you're pretty cute when you're blushing."Carol smirked, only slightly embarrassed at being caught blushing. “Heh… Thanks, Storm. You know, not many people get to see such a thing – it’s a bit of a rarity…”
If it were anyone else… well… she might have wanted to punch him. In Johnny’s case, however, Carol was quite inclined to let him get away with it. In fact… She kinda, sorta liked it – or at least, she enjoyed the attention.
From him.
It didn’t take long for the duo to touchdown on a secluded beach along the shoreline. A town spread out on the cliffs above, most with gorgeous blue tiled roofs – they were in Santorini, and it was gorgeous out here!

Johnny laughed a bit, Carol didn't date a lot, he could tell. He liked that, it was new to him. Johnny hadn't dated someone outside the club scene in years. He had been pretty notorious about that before he became the Human Torch.
After the Fantastic Four appeared, Johnny just got worse and worse. Maybe now, with someone like Carol, Johnny would turn around a little bit. Not only was she gorgeous, but she was well mannered and from the Air Force, practically the exact opposite of anyone he'd ever gone out with.
This was going to be so much fun.
As soon as they were over the soft sand, Johnny flew above Carol, smirking a bit in his flame form before shutting off his powers.
From there, he lightly fell on top of the fellow blonde, the two bounced into the light sand. Johnny smirked and said, "Whoops. I guess I'm still soaked from the ocean. Ran out of fire." Obviously, he hadn't but Johnny was enjoying the game they were playing.
