“I've been at the mercy of men just following orders. Never again."
MAGNETO
Name: Erik Lehnsherr
Alias(es): Magneto, Erik Magnus, Eric M. Lehnsherr, Eric Magnus Lensherr
REGULAR
Age: 44
Height: 5’ 11”
Physical Description: Magneto is quite tall, with blue eyes and short brown hair. He sometimes wears normal clothes, but he is usually seen in his costume. This is made up of his red helmet, robe and cape. He hardly ever smiles, even when in the company of mutants, and when he's with humans, if ever, his scowl can show just how much he looks down on them.
Face Claim: Michael Fassbender
Personality: Magneto has no love for the species known as Homo-sapiens. Past experiences have shown him that they are cruel idiots, unwilling to accept anything new or out of the ordinary. He would do anything he could to rid the world of them in order to better it, and he does not like it when other mutants interfere with that. His friend, Charles Xavier, is one of the few people Magneto actually respects, though he still think he's misguided. Magneto would rather have his friend join him than fight against him, but doubts that he will see that humans are ants beneath their feet. He longs for the day when mutants will rule over humans, and will stop at nothing to achieve it.
Affiliation: The Brotherhood of Mutants, formerly the X-Men
Identity: Secret
Powers or Special Abilities:
Master of metal: Magneto is able to mentally affect magnetic fields, allowing him to manipulate metal and use various techniques. He can easily move small metal objects, deflect bullets, turning a satellite, redirecting missiles, catch jets and lift bridges.
Psychic protection: Magneto's helmet, stolen from Sebastian Shaw, contains a psychic shielding component, which means it protects him from telepathic abilities such as that of Charles Xavier's when he is wearing it.
Skills: Magneto is a very powerful mutant (level 4), with great control of his powers, and is an excellent strategist.
Advantages: Magneto is charismatic, and can often easily persuade others to see his point of view with a few words.
Disadvantages: Due to his thinking that humans are inferior and that he is one of the most powerful beings on the planet, Magneto can sometimes underestimate his enemies, ultimately leading to his downfall.
Occupation: Mutant terrorist
Citizenship: USA
Place of Birth: Germany
Relatives: Edie Lehnsherr (mother, deceased), Magda Lehnsherr (wife, deceased), Anya Lehnsherr (daughter, deceased) Wanda Maximoff (daughter), Pietro Maximoff (son), Lorna Dane (daughter)
History: Mutants. Homo-superior. We are the greatest and most advanced beings on the planet, granted with the gift of unique powers and abilities. Compared to Homo-sapiens, we are gods. But they don't think of us that way. Human minds are so idiotic and stubborn that they refuse to accept the natural course of evolution. They wish to stop the advancement of their kind. And so I think: why should we tolerate them when they will not tolerate us?
The reason why I ahve such a hatred of humanity is my own past. I was a Jew born in Germany, and at a young age I was kidnapped by Neo-Nazis and forced to live in their camp. This was when I first discovered my powers, as I pulled apart a metal gate that was separating me from my parents as they dragged me off. I was as shocked by the amazing display of power as they were. They brought me to Sebastian Shaw, who was secretly a mutant. He tried to make me use my powers again, making me attempt to move a coin. I was unable to do it, and was threatened that if I didn't, my mother would die. I still couldn't do it. I watched my mother get shot right in front of me. In my horror, fear and anger, I ripped apart Shaw's lab. He tortured me for many years after, trying to get me to use my powers again. Of course, he failed, like the idiot he was. He deserved to have his precious laboratory destroyed.
Thankfully, I soon escaped that horrific place of nightmares, but I never forgot what was done to me there. I carried the coin I was forced to try and move as a reminder. I found as many Neo-Nazis as I could and killed them, sometimes using my powers to do so. I tracked Shaw down to America, but when I encountered him, I was attacked by his group of mutants known as the Hellfire Club. It was at this point I met Charles Xavier, a powerful mutant like myself, and a brilliant man. He brought me to his school, Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, where he helped young mutants learn about and control their powers. Before then I was using anger in order to utilize my powers, but he showed me how I could balance my emotions in order to use them to their full extent. He was a good friend of mine, and we spent many years helping people like us. We also formed a group known as the X-Men: a squad of mutants who would assist others in times of desperate need. There was only one problem with this paradise.
The outcasts of humanity were the next stage of their life.
The irony. I hated the humans for what they did to us, how they drove us out. Charles knew this, and tried to convince me that we should help them. He was misguided. Humans wanted to exterminate us, and there was little we could do to persuade them otherwise. I tried to show Charles this, but he pleaded with me to see that there was another way. The humans had never bothered to assist the X-Men on any of their missions. In fact, they had often been attacked. This came to a head on one such mission. We were under fire from humans, and I was trying to destroy them. Charles asked me to stop, but I wouldn't. He tackled me to the ground and fought me off so that I would not harm them. In the struggle, one of the bullets I failed to deflect from the humans hit Charles in the spine, crippling him. I was horrified at what happened. My good friend, as remarkable as his powers were, had been...reduced to a much lesser being.
I would have no more of it. I left the mansion with a few other mutants who followed my belief, and I took the title of Magneto. I then founded the Brotherhood of Mutants for our kind. I will show the world that mutants are the ultimate beings. I will stop at nothing to achieve peace for our kind. I can only hope that Charles will either stay out of my way, or see the truth of the matter.
