“And what if the, Other Guy, says no?”
THE HULK
Name: Robert Bruce Banner
Alias(es): The Hulk, Mr. Green, The Other Guy
REGULAR , NPC, or TEMP Regular
Age: 37
Height: 5’8” (As Banner) 8’6” (As Hulk)
Physical Description: In his human form, Bruce stands at an average height and build for a man who undergoes serious physical training to keep himself calm. Working out is an outlet to let out stress, rather than letting it become excess rage.
After transforming, The Hulk proves to be too large for his clothing, typically destroying any kind of shirt and shoes that he may be wearing. Thankfully, Hulk usually manages to keep his pants, though they tend to become shorts and are ruined after every transformation.
Face Claim: Mark Ruffalo
Personality: After the incident at Culver University, Banner became obsessed with finding a cure for his mutation. He is afraid of hurting someone unintentionally, so he tries not to get close to something that leaves him stressed. He supplemented his scientific pursuit by learning meditation and breathing techniques, gaining a greater control over the transformations. When he transforms, his personality regresses to a more child-like state and he has little recollection of events after he returns to his normal human form.
In his earliest transformations, Banner appeared as a savage with no real ability to distinguish friend from foe. Because of this, he was responsible for the deaths of two scientists, an army officer, a police officer from Idaho and two Canadian hunters when he was a fugitive. The Hulk gradually attained a better reasoning capacity over time, becoming able to show affection and demonstrating a capacity to work collaboratively with others.
Affiliation: The Avengers
Identity: SECRET
Powers or Special Abilities:
Skills: Banner is the leading mind on gamma radiation studies. Because of this, he is the go to expert for any problems regarding the radiation.
Advantages: Bruce Banner is a gifted scientist with particular expertise in nuclear physics and biochemistry, famous for being one of the foremost geniuses of his generation. Agent Coulson compares him to Stephen Hawking. He learned Aikido and meditative breathing basic techniques, while in Brazil, with a martial arts expert.
As the Hulk, while having no formal training, he is a formidable hand to hand combatant simply due to his great physical attributes. He typically uses street fighting and brawling techniques that make full use of his strength. He also frequently employs pieces of his immediate environment to fight with, often to use as thrown objects to strike distant targets, and sometimes for melee attacks or protection.
Disadvantages: As the Hulk, Banner is hindered by a vastly reduced intelligence. His scientific mind regresses to a very primitive state, barely capable of deductive reasoning. Coupled with his extreme rage and physical power, this can cause havoc as he vents his rage on the world around him. As the rage subsides however, his emotional attachments to particular people, or Banner's concern for innocents, have allowed him to regain some level of control and turn his prodigious strength towards productive outlets.
Occupation: Hero, Scientist
Citizenship: American
Place of Birth: Dayton, Ohio
Relatives: N/A
History: It all started at Culvur University when the U.S. Army recruited me to try and recreate the super-soldier serum they had used in WWII. I designed it to make humans immune to any form of harmful radiation, and I may have been a bit overconfident about that, since to prove it, I injected it into myself while allowing my body to absorb a large amount of gamma radiation. The amount I absorbed would kill a normal man, However, the serum saved and destroyed my life at the same time, for when it mixed with the radiation, it transformed me into an incredibly powerful beast with infantile intelligence. when I/he broke free, he caused an explosion and accidentally injured my girlfriend at the time, Dr Betty Ross. While she was comatose in the hospital, I learned the army planned to use my research to create a bioweapon. With that knowledge, I made the choice to flee and hide.
I ran and hid for five years until I managed to get a job at a cola bottling plant in Brazil. While there, I learned martial arts and meditation to help control my anger. I also spent my time looking for plants that reduce radiation. I’m not quite sure how it happened, but I must’ve gotten careless, because Betty’s father, General Thaddeus Ross found me with a team of British Marines. It was a safe bet to assume he didn’t come to catch up on old times. Leading the team was a man named Emil Blonsky. Needless to say, things got ugly and I was forced into transforming. Blonsky was persistent, and he chased me across borders all the way to Guatemala. After that, I managed to escape him and get back to the United States.
Once back home, I found out Betty was back to working in the Cellular Biology department at Culvur. My old friend Stanley was willing to give me a job as a pizza delivery boy, which I used to get inside into the University and continue my research, looking for a cure. One day, Betty visited the pizzeria and found me out. We were together again until someone tipped off her father and Blonsky’s team was back on my tail. This time, Blonsky came at me with biological enhancements, but when Betty was knocked unconscious, I just went all-out on the soldiers. I routed them and left Blonsky in critical condition. I’m not sure how many bones I broke, but it was better than what he deserved. With Betty in hand, I fled into the Smoky Mountain National Forest.
Together, we headed to Manhattan, to meet my online friend, Mr Blue, who’s real was Dr Samuel Sterns. He gave me an antidote that helps control transformations and reverse them, but would not prevent them. Our friendship was out on the rocks however when he was synthesizing my blood. I tried to convince him to stop and get rid of the blood, but before I could, Old Man Ross managed to hit me with a tranquilizer dart.
Both Betty and I were taken in, but Blonsky was in the area, and he managed to get the synthesized blood and went on a rampage to draw me out. General Ross let me go to fight him, and Blonsky, “The Abomination” and I clashed in a rather destructive pitched battle. Nothing beats the original however, and I was ready to finish him for good, but Betty intervened. I’m thankful for that, since I’m no murderer, but I’ve got to keep on the run. I went where no one in the United States would ever dare look: Canada!
From experience, I know running doesn’t work, and so it was hardly a surprise when Nick Fury from SHIELD came up to me about a team. Our talks were cut short when some rowdy patrons made me transform and I threw a jukebox at him. (Too bad, I liked that song) Of course, I was back on the run.
For the next eighteen months, I found inner peace and self-actualization as a freelance doctor helping poor neighbourhoods get the care they needed. Of course, as stated above, running never works, and SHIELD Agent Natasha Romanoff convinced me to help them track down the Tesseract since it happened to emit gamma radiation. I went with her to the SHIELD Helicarrier, despite it not being a very good work environment for me to be in, with the egos of Thor, Steve Rogers, and especially Tony Stark in my face. I certainly didn’t help, but when the ship came under attack, I sustained injuries and I transformed to protect myself. I have no recollection of what happened, but I supposedly attempted to chase Agent Romanoff, and got into a fight with the god Thor. My next coherent memory is of waking up in a crater where a security guard gave me clothes.
I met up with the team in New York, where I was able to trigger a controlled transformation, and destroy both the alien fighters and their heavy craft. Of course, what made my day was tossing around Loki. That will be one of my best memories for as long as I live. Anyways, Thor took Loki and the Tesseract away, meaning that I have no reason to stay. I’m still working on a cure, or at least a way to get “him” fully under control, but while at that, I’ve been keeping at my medical practices. This way, I’m still a hero without his power.

Identity: SECRET
Powers or Special Abilities:
- Metamorphosis: When Bruce gets angry or excited enough to increase his heart rate to high levels, he transforms into a powerfully muscled and green version of himself, generally referred to as the Hulk. According to Dr. Sterns, the gamma pulse comes from the amygdala, and the enhanced cells absorb the gamma energy temporarily, and then it abates when Banner gets angry, resulting in a chemical reaction that produces a myostatin primer. Initially, he was unable to control the transformations, but through training and practice has managed to attain some level of control. Banner's secret to containing the Hulk is that he is always angry, though it is unknown why this works.
- Superhuman Strength: In the form of the Hulk, Bruce possesses immense physical strength, unparalleled in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the Hulk he was able to rip steel as it was made of paper and was able to throw heavy objects with tremendous force. By clapping his hands he was able to make a shock wave that snuffed out a fire. In times of stress the Hulk's adrenaline level escalates, causing a corresponding escalation in strength. This is not accompanied by an additional gain in mass, but does appear to promote increased levels of energy efficiency. By raising his fists and arms and striking the ground, he can create tremors of incredible force that can stun even the Abomination. He was able to go toe to toe against Thor with and without Mjolnir, demonstrating he was able to hit him hard enough to make the thunder god bleed. He took down a leviathan with one massive punch.
- Superhuman Leaping Ability: The Hulk's great strength also extends into the highly developed muscles of his legs which allows him to leap great distances. The Hulk also shows incredible precision with his ability to aim his jumps and landings.
- Superhuman Speed: Despite his weight, his strong legs provide a greater speed. He reaches speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Durability: The Hulk is able to withstand substantial punishment; even high caliber bullets bounce off of him and the fire causes much less damage compared to a human. His bone, skin and muscles are overly dense, hard and tough. Only beings with tremendous force or extremely powerful weapons can harm him. The Hulk withstood multiple energy blasts from Chitauri weaponry.
- Superhuman Healing Factor: The Hulk heals rapidly from injuries at a much greater rate than a normal human. Grievous bodily harm has also proven to be a trigger for Banner's transformations, and he has recovered from otherwise fatal injuries sustained in his normal form. Banner said he tried to put a bullet through his mouth but the "other guy" spit it out. Hulk also has a enhanced immune system; Dr. Samuel Sterns described that a synthesized Banner's blood sample would make humans impervious to disease.
- Superhuman Endurance: Substantially greater endurance than a normal human. His body counteracts fatigue poisons that build up in his muscles during physical activity, allowing the Hulk to run and fight for a long time.
Skills: Banner is the leading mind on gamma radiation studies. Because of this, he is the go to expert for any problems regarding the radiation.
