"Ah, that explains it."
There was a slight uplift in her tone now, safely on a light hearted subject.
Jessica was very careful not to say that she had already met the fastest Spider, and that she was not entirely certain Peter held a candle to him despite the genetic resemblance.
Instead, Jess shrugged with practiced ease.
"Well, hanging around the Tower isn't precisely my idea of a good date. "

Peter grinned a bit and said, "Hey, it's not like I can fly. I should be able to mix things up a little bit!"
And with his powers still developing, Peter was getting stronger and stronger every day. He stretched his arms out while Jessica offered the race.
"I'm up for it if you are, where to?"
Peter assumed that they would finish here, there and back was good for races.

Jess listened to his 'explanation' with a crooked smile, "Yes, well, naturally you would see it that way."
She was teasing. After all, in his situation, Jess knew without a doubt that she would do the same, and she could fly. Well, glide. Well... close enough.
Actually, Jess found it just as tempting to use a mild venom blast if they were going to play it that way.
"Stark Tower. My guess, Tony isn't here, and I say we go make his morning."
Also known as making sure he had to be awake as early as they were.

Peter rubbed the back of his head and said, "Gotta cut myself some slack where I can!"
He knew she was teasing, he was enjoying the game anyway. This race would be fun. Peter slipped his shirt off and stuffed it into his bag before hopping out of his pants and shoes.
Now just in costume, Peter pulled his mask on and he was ready, "Stark Tower it is!"
Sounded like Miss Drew had a devious plan in mind.
