Steve watched as Bobbi took off at full speed, "Mockingbird!"
He stopped calling out toward her after that, trying to eliminate any extra noise. She wasn't going to make this easy, dashing in at full speed. He couldn't even cover her if she charged in like that. The Captain felt the muscles in this thighs tighten up as he focused and ran up, trying to catch the blonde SHIELD agent.
To be honest, Steve didn't even know what they were breaking into, which building could it be? Mockingbird hadn't given him a full briefing, all he could do was keep up and when the shoot started, cover her as best he could, that was his job here.
Protect Mockingbird and the civilians. No matter how hard she made it for him to do that.

If Bobbi was honest with herself, she would acknowledge that she was not being rational or very professional. It wasn't like her to dash in head first whether she'd donned her costume as Mockingbird or not.
Perhaps her emotions or impulsiveness had been heightened along with everything else, or perhaps this was just too personal. Either way, Bobbi arced towards the back of the laundromat, slowing her pace slightly so she could see if anyone was around.
Sure enough, there were a few guards, albeit poorly masking themselves as grunt workers on a cigarette break. The lines of their bodies were too tense for that to be believable, and the visible outline of a gun took that illusion and smashed it into itty bitty pieces.
Stopping at the edge of the laundromat proper, just in the corner of their vision, Mockingbird glanced back to Steve. Impulsive or not, she wasn't so stupid as to step out into the open without him.
"We're looking for a storage unit most likely," she whispered. "Ready, Captain?"

Steve was right behind Mockingbird the entire time. She wasn't about to bust in without him, Cap wouldn't have let her. Relieved that he no longer had to chase her, the man nodded when she asked if he was ready. He nodded before walking up to take the lead. Steve steadied his shield before saying, "I'm at your command Mockingbird."
Typically, Steve was used to being in charge. During the war, he led the Invaders and during most group battles, Steve made the plans for the Avengers. However, he wasn't above taking orders. When he'd first tried to get into the army, his intention was to be a good soldier and follow orders, not to lead anything.
And yet, that's what ended up happening. Cap certainly wouldn't complain about it, but it was definitely an interesting turn of events.
He looked to her again, waiting for Bobbi to give him the motion to break in and begin the operation.

Bobbi took a deep breath then nodded to Steve before running, full speed this time, towards the guards. The faster she moved, the smaller a target she would be.
Besides, Bobbi wasn't really as well known as Steve. The sight of Captain America was bound to create much more attention than her costume would.
Slipping inside the door closest to the guards after decking one of them, Bobbi's only priority was getting these prisoners out and safely. That meant finding them, freeing them, and making sure the coast was clear before a single one stepped out of doors.
The last wouldn't be as hard as it sounded most likely. Bobbi knew what it was like to be held against your will. It made you question the opportunity of freedom, whether it was real or just another clever lie.

A barrage of gunfire didn't slow the Captain down. Quite the opposite really. Steve was already on the job, heading for the center of the room.He spotted one of the gunmen and with a powerful circle of his arm, his shield went flying, cracking into the man and rebounding to Captain America.
One of the traffickers charged Steve, only to be met with a fist to the stomach followed by a knee to the nose and sent sprawling to the ground.
Steve continued battling the men all around, trying to keep an eye on where Agent Morse had gotten off to. He was here to make sure she and the prisoners made their way out safely. This was the kind of work that Steve yearned to do in a post-war America.
Helping people was his specialty, at least after his body had been changed, and that's what Captain Rogers continued to do.
